DoughBoy’s Café Mural

For all of our carb lovers, you probably already know about DoughBoy’s Cafe in Odessa. First, you go for all of your carb and breakfast eats, but after, once you’re full of bakery goodness, you can go and appreciate the art outside the building.

The mural at DoughBoy’s has just about every aspect of Odessa and West Texas you can think of all in one spot. You’ll be able to spot everything from the famous jackrabbits to the local high schools’ teams.

Location: 1621 W 10th St, Odessa, TX 79763

Hollywood Mural

Over off of Grant in Odessa, you’ll find the faces of many Hollywood stars that you know and love.

Students from ECISD came together to create this mural on the side of the old movie house. You’ll be able to spot some of your favorites and the bright colors make for a fantastic photo location.

The location of the mural goes really well with the theme of the mural as it is painted on the side of the historic Scott and Rio Theater in Odessa.

Location: 601 N Grant Ave, Odessa, TX 79761

Curb Side Bistro Murals

One of Odessa’s favorite eateries has one of the best murals in the city. With their famous fries and other menu items, you can enjoy all of this while admiring the art around the building. The street art includes a colorful sugar skull and of course, The Notorious B.I.G. The art does not end on the street but continues on the inside with tons of art.

On the inside of this restaurant, you’ll find plenty of great food options to grab a bite, but also, other backdrops and art.

Location: 3816 Andrews Hwy, Odessa, TX 79762

Early Oil Mural & Longhorn Statue

This piece of street art depicts the early days of West Texas and what continues to make the area a booming oil town. Over to the side of this mural is a giant longhorn statue. The statue needs a good walk around to just take in the size of it.

Like other art, this mural tells the story and history of Odessa without words and through paint. Painted by local artist, Janet Pontius, this is only one of the magnificent murals that she’s done around the Midland-Odessa area.

Location: Ector County Courthouse- 300 N Grant Ave, Odessa, TX 79761

Odessa Cowboy Mural

On the corner of 5th and 385 in Downtown Odessa stands a tall cowboy against the Texas flag. We don’t know what is more Texan than that.

What can only be the face of the shadowed cowboy on the right, looks upon the walking citizens of Odessa and whatever else happens in his gaze.

With the other most Texas thing you can think of, there’s a nice planter with some cacti growing to complete the entire theme of West Texas in this area.

Location: Corner of 5th and 385 (Dixie Blvd.)

385 & 1st Street Bridge Mural

Over off of 385 you’ll run into a rust inspired map of some of Odessa’s high traffic stops. Local artist, Dolfaliene Staggs painted this bridge piece in celebration of the arts in Odessa as well as other important parts of Odessa. While the signs point in the right direction of all of these spots, you might want to consult your maps to find them!

Location: 127-101 E 1st St, Odessa, TX 79761

WCR Bridge Mural

If you’re wanting a quick history lesson on Odessa, this mural illustrates everything about the town perfectly. Painted in celebration of Odessa’s 125th year, the mural has everything from the very beginnings of Odessa’s railroads to the Union Pacific railroad that is used today.

The artist responsible for this piece of art is Midland local Janet Pontious who has done numerous murals and paintings around both Midland and Odessa. Try and catch a peek next time you’re driving down the bridge.

Midland & Grant Mural

Another Janet Pontious piece around Odessa is located off of Midland Street and Grant. In the scene, you see the beginnings of a flight in an early model of an airplane with a photographer taking a picture of the event.

What can be seen in this scene is not anything in the last few years as these outfits are not in today’s fashions.

Location: 100 E Midland St, Odessa, TX 79761
