August is going to be a busy month here in Odessa with lots to do and lots of things to see. Just because summer break is over and school has started does not mean the fun has to stop.

Sunday, August 1

  • MCH Foundation Tumbleweed Triathlon at The University of Texas Permian Basin

    This run, swim, and bike race takes place on the beautiful and large campus of UTPB. Only a certain amount of entries are available, so sign up fast!

  • Pet Splash at Sherwood Park

    On the last day of the pool season, all pups are welcome for a dip in the pool with free watermelon and prizes! All dogs must be up to date on rabies vaccination.

 

Tuesday, August 3

  • Grocer at Cactus House

    Enjoy a night of live music and other musical guests to wrap up your summer. Ticket available at the door!

 

Thursday, August 5

  • League Night at Rimrock Raceway 

    Get fast and furious at Rimrock Raceway with some kart racing and compete against other local racers. 

  • Knit & Stitch at Ellen Noel Art Museum 

    Join your Odessa community with your current knitting project to bounce ideas and techniques off of each other. No experience is needed!

 

Friday, August 6

  • George Ducas at the Ector Theatre

    Country music star makes a stop at Ector Theatre to play hits from his hit albums. Tickets are available now. 

  • New Moon Gong Bath at rOMing Yoga

    Join rOMing Yoga for an hour and a half of yoga and sound healing with the new moon. Mat tickets are available now. 

  • Teen Night at Music City Mall 

    Odessa teens are invited to a night on the ice at MCM with a live DJ and treats from Ice Breaker Cafe. 

  • Trolls World Tour: Movie in the Park at Sherwood Park 

    Catch the very last movie in the Movie in the Park summer series at Sherwood Park. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks for a night of movies and fun!

  • Grupo Laberinto con Edgardo Nuñez at La Hacienda Event Center

    Enjoy a night of live music to wrap up your summer. Tickets will be available at the door!

 

Saturday, August 7

  • Basin Pride at Noel Heritage Park

    Join Pride Center West Texas for a weekend of celebration and fun. With lots of food, activities, and live music, there’s a lot to look forward to!

  • Family Movie at Ector County Library 

    Take the entire family for a movie and a snack in the basement at the Ector County Library. This event takes place every Saturday!

  • Lip Sync Battle Finals at Odessa Arts Carnival Stage 

    The final event in Odessa Art’s Lip Sync battle all goes down this Saturday! Vote now to cast your vote for the final contestants. 

  • West Texas Bull Invasion- No Limits Tour at Ector County Coliseum 

    Watch some professionals take on some of the angriest bulls in Texas at the West Texas Bull Invasion as they make a stop at the Coliseum.

 

Sunday, August 8

  • Vinyl Brunch at Odessa Marriott 

    Join the Odessa Marriott and Endless Horizons for a tune-filled brunch where Endless Horizons will also have a pop-up shop to shop all of your favorite vinyl. We suggest you stop by one of these coffee shops in Odessa before heading to brunch at the Marriott!

  • The Long Run- Eagles Tribute Band at the Ector Theatre 

    Relive some of the Eagles’ greatest hits with The Long Run, a tribute band to the Eagles. Tickets are available now.

  • Randy Rogers Band at La Hacienda Event Center

    Randy Rogers Band and opener, Wade Bowen take the stage at The Hacienda.

Join the Penwell Knights Raceway for an afternoon of drag racing and time trials in the Outlaw Bracket Series.
